Phproxy Script
Phproxy is a free web proxy script, allowing you to hide your identity while browsing the internet. It also allows you to bypass firewalls on the network, commonly used to view websites that are normally blocked at school or work. It declined in popularity after phproxy was no longer being supported by the developer. Zelune has since become the standard php proxy script.
The script was modeled after the original cgi proxy script; It is an excellent script but very taxing on a server. Phproxy runs lighter (and faster) than cgi although it only excels at general browsing.
To use phproxy, you must either install it yourself on a web server or visit a site that is powered by it. If you are tech savvy, having your own personal proxy site is a great idea because it is less likely to get banned by a system admin because only you are using it. Running a public site is a fiercely competitive endeavor since web hosting for a proxy is very expensive.
Version 0.5 is the last version of phproxy. If you want something more up to date, check out zelune.
